For Immediate Release The Cottage Grove Community Foundation announces fifteen Community Grant Award Recipients for 2010 The Cottage Grove Community Foundation (CGCF) is pleased to announce that fifteen non-profit organizations were selected as community grant recipients for a total of $14,400. ``This year's total funding exceeds all previous year's funding,'' said Kathryn Porter, President. ``We are so thankful to our local community and our generous endowment holders for their charitable giving.'' Funding for the grants are made possible through donations from the Community Foundation Permanent Endowment Fund, the CGCF Veatch Fund, the CGCF Carlton Woodard Advised Fund, the Frank and Pamela Simpson Advised Fund, the CGCF Believe in Angels Endowment Fund, the Drs. Harrison and Fuller Advised Fund, the Cottage Grove Green Earth Advised Expendable Fund and a donation from Betty Wright. The grant recipients and projects are as follows: Educational Grants: Bohemia Community/Classroom Garden - raised bed construction, $1,000 Community Sharing Program - Community Educational Garden - $1,500 Aprovecho - The Ecoliteracy and Practical Sustainability Program - $1,000 Parent Partnership LTD - Ages & Stages Program - $1,000 Boys & Girls Clubs of Emerald Valley, Cottage Grove Branch - Arts & Crafts Program - $750 Opal Free School - Opal's Free Summer Camp - $1,000 The Patrick McCurdy Education Foundation - Reaching Out Mentoring - Lion Buddies - $1,000 Social Service Grants: Stone River Community - Composting Bath House Project - $1,000 Womenspace, Inc - Cottage Grove Direct Client Aid Fund - $1,000 Cottage Grove Compassionate Ministries - Wednesday Night Suppers - $1,000 Looking Glass Rural Program - Shower Program - $1,000 Cottage Grove Family Relief Nursery - Domestic Violence Support Work - $1,000 Health/Medical Services Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon - Medical Equipment for Cottage Grove Health Center - $400 Cultural Grants: Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council - East Regional Park Interpretive Sign - $1,000 Cottage Theatre - Scholarships for Summer Theater Camps - $750 The Cottage Grove Community Foundation will celebrate with these outstanding non-profit organizations at a Community Grant Awards ceremony on Tuesday, March 16 from noon to 1:00 pm in the Shepherd Room of the Community Center. The public is invited to attend. The Cottage Grove Community Foundation is a public non-profit organization to help improve the quality of life for residents of the City of Cottage Grove and surrounding communities. The Foundation is a resource for citizens, private companies, and other foundations to make charitable gifts and bequests that will provide financial support to educational, medical, cultural, social, and civic organizations serving our community.
