Press Release-February 2009Home Page Grants ScholarshipsFor Release February 25, 2009 The Cottage Grove Community Foundation announces fifteen Community Grant Award Recipients for 2009 The Cottage Grove Community Foundation (CGCF) is pleased to announce that fifteen of the 23 grant applications received were selected for a community grant award to help these non-profit organizations with their projects. This year's grant awards range from $500 to $1,000. "The community foundation is very pleased that we received more grant applications than previously and from organizations that we have not previously had applications from," said Darrel Williams, CGCF Grant Committee Chair. "We are fortunate to have many donors who give generously to the foundation and we are always looking for more donors to both our grant and scholarship programs." Funding for the grants are made possible by the Community Foundation Permanent Endowment Fund, the CGCF Veatch Fund, the CGCF Carlton Woodard Advised Fund, the CGCF Joy Woodard Expendable Fund, the CGCF Casey Woodard Advised Fund, the Frank and Pamela Simpson Advised Fund, the CGCF Believe in Angels Endowment Fund, and a donation from Betty Wright. The Cottage Grove Community Foundation will celebrate with these outstanding non-profit organizations at a Community Grand Awards ceremony on Tuesday, March 17 from noon to 1:00 pm in the Shepherd Room of the Community Center. The public is invited to attend. The Cottage Grove Community Foundation is a public non-profit organization to help improve the quality of life for residents of the City of Cottage Grove and surrounding communities. The Foundation is a resource for citizens, private companies, and other foundations to make charitable gifts and bequests that will provide financial support to educational, medical, cultural, social, and civic organizations serving our community. The Foundation is exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code. The Foundation is affiliated with the Oregon Community Foundation, an Oregon non-profit corporation for the counsel and management of funds.
